Last week’s Image Intelligence Hack Night in San Francisco brought developers together to explore what’s possible with Daft and Daytona.
In just two hours, participants created projects that combined creativity with solid technical execution. At the end of the evening, Daft and Daytona recognized the top three projects with prizes, and Daytona provided credits to all participants.
Winning Projects
1st Place — $2,000 in Daytona Credits
DaftCraft by Aniruddha Chattopadhyay
DaftCraft showcased Daft’s multimodal data processing in action. By treating images as first-class DataFrame citizens, the project enabled scalable distributed batch processing.
The prototype allowed users to upload multiple room photos and transform them into cohesive interior design styles. For professionals who need to process large volumes of images, this illustrated how distributed computing can improve efficiency in practical workflows.
2nd Place — $1,000 in Daytona Credits
Deepfake Destroyer — DIRADAR by Dhenenjay Yadav
With the release of generative image models like Google’s Banana Nano, deepfakes are becoming increasingly common. DIRADAR addressed this challenge with a solution focused on detecting and mitigating manipulated images. The project was both timely and practical, earning strong recognition from judges and participants.
3rd Place — $500 in Daytona Credits
Keep Your Cool by Lucas Ho
This project delivered a polished prototype under tight time constraints. It combined a clear, practical idea with thoughtful execution, showing what can be achieved in a short period of focused work.
Closing Thoughts
The hack night demonstrated the value of pairing Daft and Daytona, and how quickly ideas can be tested and turned into working solutions. We look forward to seeing how these projects evolve and to hosting future hackathons.
Shoutout to ChanChan Mao and Yujian Tang for making this event possible!
